People can falsify the address an email comes from

We use email addresses with built-in two-factor authentication to ensure your information and our emails back and forth are secure. All emails from Welfare Scotland will come from an email address at '' or '' and any email from any other address claiming to be Welfare Scotland should not be acted upon.

We use and enforce SPF, DKIM and DMARC to all outgoing emails which allows spam and fraud checkers to recognise and take action when emails sent are not originating from our servers. Our email set up scores 91/100 from ESG and a 'Confidence Score' of 100 from Check TLS.

Money, money, money

They say money makes the world go round but you'll never receive an email from us asking you to wire money into our bank account, make PayPal payments or asking you to call premium rate numbers (070, 090 etc) for assistance. All fundraising and donations are collected via this secure website or in the event of partner services, resources linked to directly on this website. Never via email.

Requests for information

If you have received an email which you are suspicious about or which is from an address outside '' we ask that you forward it over to us and we will have a look at it and get back to you to confirm if we sent it or asked for it to be sent.
